Smugglers (Entre bateas)

TV movie / Drama

I was very young when I shot Smugglers. And it was not easy for me to face, for the first time, handling the rhythm of a long story like this one (something completely different from the short films or the Tv series I was learning how to work with), but the good reception by the audience and the critic, made up for all the efforts.
And besides, I had here the opportunity of working with some of the most talented people I’ve met, such as the screenwriters Ramón Campos and Carlos Portela, or the producer Emma Lustres, who was by that time, starting her career.
SYNOPSIS:

The film digs inside the conflict that takes place in Arousa between the former smugglers of tobacco and the new drug dealers, through the story of Mario and of Sego, two smugglers who have been friends since they were kids.
